A Candidate for Mayor

Jeffry Michelsonfor Mayor of Lockhart

Grow Lockhart responsibly, keep our small-town feel, and let common sense lead the way.

Paid for by the Jeffry Michelson Campaign.

Proudly Lockhart

A town worth fighting for

Lockhart isn't just any small town in Texas. It's a place with a story, and keeping that story going is what this campaign is about.

  • Barbecue Capital of Texas

So named by the Texas Legislature in 1999, with pits on the square that have been smoking for generations.

  • A square worth its close-up

Our historic downtown is on the National Register, and a longtime favorite of Hollywood filmmakers just up the road from Austin.

  • The oldest library in Texas

The Dr. Eugene Clark Library has been open to readers longer than any other public library in the state.

  • A courthouse to be proud of

The 1894 Caldwell County Courthouse still keeps time over the square in cream limestone and red sandstone.

The Candidate

Meet Jeffry

A Lockhart son since he was ten. Husband to Shelly, businessman, and a lifelong community servant.

Jeffry and his wife, Shelly.

I've lived in Lockhart since I was 10 years old, and my grandparents, great-grandparents, and large family were pivotal in the development of this city. I can truly say that Lockhart is in my soul. Lockhart is who I am.

My family taught me that community service is a way of life, and that pride in one's community is a character trait worth keeping. I'm the proud husband to my wife, Shelly, and our view is that common sense should always prevail. As a Lockhart son, I'll be honored to represent my favorite city in Texas as your Mayor, and to help grow our city responsibly while holding onto the small-town feel we love.

  • Responsible growth that protects our small-town feel.
  • Common sense at City Hall, in every decision.
  • Community service as a way of life, not a slogan.
